have sent an e-mail... i also agree with nicola..when they realise how important it is to you , i'm sure you will get their support...go for talking to your grandparents if you can't talk to dad

Thankyou, i know you are right but i just feel so guilty, feel as if i am being disloyal! silly i know. I think i will have to have a few vodkas before speaking to my dad, on the very rare occations we speak it is very awkward. Thanks for advice

I am in a similar situation as you, my Aunt and Uncle bought me up. My Aun and my dad are brother and sister. I have never known my birth mother and I started looking for her. I don't have much contact with my dad but he did back me up and my Aunt and Uncle, who I call mum and dad backed me up also. Unfortunately, my birth mother didn't want to know. But I don't regret looking for her, if anything I fee at ease now I know. My sugestion to you, is to talk to your dad and your nan and grandad and see what they have to say. They probably don't realise how important it is to you. They would probably back you all the way. Talk to them, I'm sure they would support you, what ever you decide. They won't know how you feel unless you tell them. Good luck Nicola

Can anyone please offer me some advice? My dad was adopted at six weeks old in sunderland. Although i love my nan and grandad i would still love to know who his birth mother is. I have her name and his date of birth, but dont know where to begin. Thing is my dad hasnt really bothered with me since he divorced my mum when i was little. I am sure he has found his birth mother but hasnt told anyone (little things give it away) I dont feel i can ask him and certianly cant ask my gran as i dont want to upset her! Do i have the right to look for her, can i obtain adoption cert? I dont know what to do.
