This is a fantastic resource, but has been playing up a bit recently. If you want to find people on the 1881 census you can also look free on the Family History Online website. When using the IGI material, its good to get onto Hugh Wallis' batch numbers site first - google to find it and follow the instructions. It will tell you which church records are on the IGI, so if your family's village isn't there, or you want a birth after a certain date, you will know its not worth searching there. nell

Try this website if it has not been already mentioned its www.familysearch.org its run by the church of laterday saints its is a free site and does cenus's fro america, canada and british, the british census is 1881 and will give you all of household. I have found it useful.
