Hi Nell, how are you? The letter I'm concerned with -P- is supposedly 100% online. However this is my familiar brick wall. I am almost certain now from looking at both sites that CWGC have muddled the details of my soldier's next of kin which is why I haven't been able to find him. I have been looking for about a year, including having made a trip to Kew, so I just need to double check everything. (Again.)

I don't think the medals are all online yet - they are working their way through the alphabet. It costs £3.50 to download an image - you get six cards to an image, one of which will be your relative. Some cards give more detail than others. Alternatively, if you can get to Kew, you can look at them on microfiche and copy what you want for 25p. nell

Thank-you John and Paul. Interestingly there are 6 men with the right name from the right regiment on CWGC but only 5 in the National Archives........unless I missed one, of course!

Sadly this is as yet incomplete, but by the looks of it it's about 80% done so well worth looking at... Couldn't find my John SMITH though (unsurprisingly perhaps !!)

Am I right in thinking that National Archives are listing everyone who served in the war and therefore got a medal of some sort, whether they were killed or not?
