HELP!!!!! census floppy 3 1/2" disk not a happy bu

It was the 1861 Chelmsford census surname index, only cost about £3/£4 so I'll buy another one at some point - and this time I will remember to make a back up copy of it :-) Karen

I know, I've 3 cats and two kids , plenty of them take the blame for messin the computer up ! What census was it? Perhaps someone else has it on these boards and could look up for you.Kim.

Hiya Kim Thanks for your hints. I've tried other disks and they work ok :-( so I think its the disk thats knackered :-( wish I had made a back up of it or saved it onto my hard drive :-( - just done that with my other census disks - once bitten twice shy! My cat was climbing on my pc at the time, so I'm going to blame her :-) Karen

I had this with my disk and turned out disk was damaged , it may just be dirty or you may find it works if you restart your computer, check the plastic on the disk isn't spilt or damaged .Hope you have better luck than i did! Kim

Hiya I've just tried opening a census index that is on a 3 1/2 inch floppy disk and it tells me that the disk isnt formatted!??!!! I used the disk yesterday with no probs, any ideas? Thanks Karen
