Try "The Great War Forum" a great website and link from 1914-1918(.) org. There are dozens of boards from men to uniforms, insignia, deaths etc both German and allied. They were a great help to me. You can also check the WWI medal rolls online at Kew if you know his full name, but you may get several other people on the same page, with the same name., it's worth a try, but remember only 30% of other records remain the rest were lost in the blitz.

If you go to National Archives Site on line you can enter his name and hopefully will get a number of options come up. Otherwise its a visit to Kew to look through the records or hire a researcher to do it for you. I note he will only be 16 in 1914 - are you sure he served in the army? Of course people did join up at that age, but I wondered if you knew where he served or anything. Good luck.

I would love to find out about my grandfather Robert Burton GREENACRE and what he did in World War One. He was born in 1898 but died when my father was a baby so neither of us know anything about him as my grandmother remarried and wouldn't talk of him. Unfortunately i do not know a regiment or number for him, is there anyway that I can find his records? many thanks Russell
