I can't find any deaths under the name mary wheeler, i will start looking for his second marriage, to see what it says. I hope he did not abandon her. Lol Julie

Julie Not sure I understand. If Mary Ann (born Bromley) married Mr Wheeler, she remains Mrs Wheeler. If there is a 2nd Mrs Wheeler, then Mary Ann (Mrs Wheeler 1st) will have either: a) died - death should be registered under Wheeler b) divorced - there's a page on this on The national archives explaining how to find out more c) Mr Wheeler abandoned 1st wife and bigamously married Mrs Wheeler 2. So does Mr Wheeler's second marriage cert have him down as a widower, or a divorce? nell

Well, i don't know her new name if she remarried. Can't find her with her maiden name so my bets are she remarried but who to?

Yeah tried that, will give it another go incase i missed something. I can only find her in 1871 in earl street, where could i go to check earl street in 1881? also it hard to use.

There are over 400 Mary or Mary Ann Wheelers in that time period on BMD ancestry. Cant see one dying right time right place. Perhaps someone else can try for you. Have you tried FreeBMD did you say?

It's too expensive for me, too. You've obviously done the bit I was suggesting. By the way, I don't know if the free Ancestry access is still going on; see the threads for this. Maybe a more experienced member can point you in the right direction. Good luck! : ) Glenys. P.S. Just looked at the thread, just below yours at the mo! Look at the last reply on page 7.

The Ancestry is to expensive for me. <BANG HEAD ON DOOR> Anyway on the search, i have found a death in 1872, with just the name, but don't give much info so not sure if it her or not. Thanks

I've had similar situations on my tree Julie, and someone suggested I look up Ancestry.com to see if there's a record of her death, and his subsequent remarriage. I've had successes there. Just a thought ...... Good luck! Glenys.

I have a Mary Ann Bromley who married Daniel Wheeler in 1860 and lived in earl street in 1871, had a son called Daniel. Now in 1881 Daniel wheeler had got a new wife so will Mary Ann go back to her maiden name or she could of remarried again. Hit a brickwall Julie
