Did Shackleton ever go North training or whatever for the South Pole expedition? Spitzbergen for example. Someone on this site will know- you've never let me down yet! |

I believe he went to Norway to consult Amundsen, who advised him to take dogs. He also investigated skis, snowshoes and winter clothing. If you can, nip into your library and get a copy of the biography by Roland Huntford. nell |
