Thanks for the advice. I have sent a suitably stern email but will resort to ringing in a couple of days if no joy. I've asked them to credit my account for the amount they have taken out without my permission so we shall see what happens!! many thanks again Chris

I would check your terms and conditions so you know where you stand. I checked mine and it said they would tell me before renewal was due - they didn't tell me so I sent them an e-mail: "You failed to warn me that my subscription was about to expire ("You will be notified by e-mail 15 days before your subscription will end, asked to correct any information which has changed and given the opportunity to "opt out" of your renewal. ") or I would have cancelled sooner. I will NOT be making any further payments to you and will regard any attempts by you to obtain further payments as unjustified and dishonest." I quoted my Reference No etc. I'm sure you could modify the second paragraph to suit your case (if they have not abided by the T&C) I mailed it to cancel at ancestry.*com

Has anyone else tried to cancel thier subscription to this website? They have automatically renewed my subscription without any prior warning taking - the money from my credit card. Despite 2 emails I am no further forward in cancelling this and don't really want to have to resort to phone calls to USA. Any tips would be appreciated!
