Member Since: April 2004 Posts: 326 Send Message	If you put in ages, place of birth etc and use soundex rather than exact spelling for their surname you get thousands of variants ! eg Paenale, Pamell, Panell, Pannel, Penhale, Pennel, Painall, you could also try it with a B or an R. My Raymond ancestor was down as Beymond on one census ! Give us some clues and we can all have a search. Elaine x.

	I have just added a message here re soundex. Have you tried substituting B F and V for P. Then theres M for N
