trying to work out what relation the following would be ie blood, direct, marriage or nothing!!! it is my great great grandmothers father, so technically hes my gx3 grandfather (4th generation! i think) anyone got any ides?? my brain hurts and i need a caffine fix corrina

He is your third great grandfather according to the relationship calculator on my family history programme.

yes thanks, i wasnt sure how bloodlines work as he is the father of my great great grandmother. think ill refer to him as uncle isaiah in future lol many thanks corrina

Corinna All direct relatives - ie mothers and fathers of your mother and father - are blood relatives and you just add great every time you go back another generation. It doesn't matter what sex they are. nell
