Thanks John... it's WALFORD not WATFORD. Thanks for your offer. Karen

I had a look at the Kent Visitations and there are no 'WATFORD's recorded, may be other family names. I'll have a look tomorrow if you like may be the name will appear elsewhere. John

This side of the family didn't go on the spaceship, thank goodness! Some just headed to Australia. They were from Gravesend, Milton, Chatham areas of Kent. They seemed to move along the river. I found a St Peter & Paul at Milton. I'll go & check on Genuki.

Hi Karen Where did your family originate from, obviously not from space? I knew my ancestry was Cornish and quite a bit of the family tree had been compiled but some information was not known. This was soon revealed with the aid of the internet by locating the Visitations (read those threads) and then finding the churches my forebears had been baptised, married and buried from. The Ancient Parishes of Cornwall site revealed the locations see http://www(.)cornish-forefathers(.)com/ancient_parishes(htm) - of course remove the brackets. And site http://www(.)uk-genealogy(.)org(.)uk/england/ will reveal Counties - select the one of interest and from there you may see the parish you want unfortunately not all parishes will contain an accessible record. For example if Cornwall only a few places have Marriages shown. Some photos are also included. John

I am looking in Pallot's Marriage Index, & wouldn't have a clue if they are my people or not because it says Parishes instead of locations. Any suggestions?? thanks Karen

Karen I normally check Genuki UK for all that type of info, I don't know obviously if you have tried their website but I find it invaluable for parishes for almost anywhere. http://www.genuki(.)org(.)uk/ remove brackets. There are local Genuki sites to check within the UK once you are in the home page. Good Luck Pat x
