Marriage certificates

This is from the order page for marriages. Either the man's surname and forename or woman's surname and forename must be given.

I'm sure you can. Depending on the date of the marriage you can find out the surname of the partner (and from there the Christian name) from the actual GRO list anyway.

You only need to give one name. They might find the other name for you if you wanted them to before ordering, but you would need to know in advance if it was the right one! If you're sure you've got the right cert, just order it. nell

If I want to order a marriage certificate but I don't know the name of one of the partners but have a full index reference can I still order the certificate? When you order them online from the GRO it asks for the names of both partners, will I still only pay £7.00 if I only know the name of one of them or does it cost extra for extra searching of partners name?
