Could someone please look up a Joseph Bewsher born around 1824 in Lamplugh (I think) Cumberland. I'm trying to find the names of his parents. Thanks Michaela

Hi Micheala Try posting your request on the records office board as that's where the poeple with census records tend to hang out! lol. Good luck Jeanette x

Is it free to look up on the 1841 Census?

Tracey, the 1841 census for the whole of England and Wales is free to look up if you can get to the Fanily Records Centre in Islington. County records offices usually have the censuses for their own county. Not much of the 1841 is on the internet, though the Federation of Family History Societies site has it for a few counties. On the Records Office Board you may find people who have bought it on CD for a particular county but they aren't usually indexed by surname so look ups need an address.Hope this helps Judith
