I need help and advice. I have a Marriage certificate for a Margaret Ann Benbow dated 7th March 1908 at st james, Salford, Lancashire. On The certificate Shes aged 20, spinster with father being John Benbow deceased, fathers occupation was signalman. Neither of the witness is a direct link to her. So these are the only two names i have to go on. I've looked on 1901 census but shes not there, there all different in age. The nearest to her is aged 15 and her father is indeed a John Benbow his occupation i cant read but it's not signalman he was born in stoke on trent and married to an elizabeth Census place being Lancashire. Census place lambeth surrey. In 1891 theres a Margaret A Benbow born Boston USA aged 3 Father John aged 33 born Forden Montgomery occupation i can only make out stoker....Briles? married to a Sarah A aged 31 Census place Denbighshire On the 1881 census i found a John Benbow aged 23 born Forden Montgomery occupation Railway signal man married to a Esther aged 27 born lewisham kent Census Place lambeth surrey. Could the 1891 john and the 1881 john be the same person having re married? making the margaret born in the USA my margaret? if so how do i go about finding a certificate for her? Thanks Gillian
