Hi Karen It is quite possible for the age to be about 10 years different in my experience so 2 years is quite close!! People told fibs about their age for various different reasons in those days so if all other details match, I wouldn't worry too much about their age being slightly different. Also I would think that Lois and Louise are close enough for it to be the same person, she could have been mistranscribed on the census. Sam

Have you found them on the 1891 or 1881 census? Do they come from Notts or was it just the marriage that was held there? Is this them on the 1891? Charles Conquest, head, 31, Bricklayers Labourer, born Cambridge Louise Conquest, wife, 28, born Leicestershire Charles Conquest, 1, born Leics. Alfred Conquest, 4 mths, born Leics Address is 12 Malt Office Lane, Belgrave, Leics Does Charles occupation match his marriage certificate? Are the ages consistent? there really is no way of being 100% certain as census information was often mistranscribed, people gave different places of birth from census to census, people gave different ages each tim etc etc I would say it is very likely you have the correct family.
