I have an ancestor that I'm certain was a policeman at GIpsy Hill Police Station in South London. He was probably a mature starter and I'd guess was enlisted about 1925. Is there a method for tracing his career other than taking my backpack and scribbling set off to Kew Records Office? |

Would the police not have an archive. When I worked for the Railway and we were able to search back on pay records and pension info. Debbie |

Debs I was hoping there was an ex copper out there who dabbled in genealogy to help. I think local stations no longer retain an historic database so, I hope all roads don't lead to Kew. Roy |

Hi If you put "police" into the thread-search, you'll find a lot of threads, some with relevant info for you. I'm not on my home computer so haven't got full set of book marks! Christine |
