I have a Gt GrandMa who is giving me some trouble:-) Namely Ann Parkinson nee Stubbins brn 1857/8 Age 43 Hull Yorks so the 1901 Census says!! She is married in 1880 to Joseph Parkinson in Haslingden Lancs 1881 Census they are at 2 Oddfellows Crt Accrington Lancs looks like they have a son from Joseph's previos marriage ? Ernest Age 3 Heywood lancs Mary Ellen Age 3 mths Haslingden. The problem is I cant track her down in 1861 or 1871 or 1891 although the kids could be in the Bolton workhouse in 1891 ?? There seems another Ann Stubbins Joseph Parkinson sems very elusive as well from my Mum I understand he went to America and died suddenly !!! In particular I'm interested to find when Ann went To Lancs and her family. Any help stop me scratching my head and leave what is left of my balding pate intact much appreciated. Dave :-)

Hi Carol I saw that very early on but discounted it as my GrandMa was born in 1893 but since then I have found possibility of kids in Bolton Union Workhouse in 1891 census which would tie in, If I remember the reason I discounted first off was there seemed to be another Ann Parkinson from Hull!! And the Luny Bin was in Lancaster. Thanks its certainly worth another look!! If we can trace the wondering Grt Grandad it might resolve it TVM Dave :-)

Hi Carol Reckon she is in the loony bin !! One of the kids Emily is aged 1 and in Bolton Union Workhouse she has my Grt Grandma a couple of years later and Joseph Parkinson is named as father. I reckon he's gone walkabout and she couldn't cope mentally or financially!! The 1901 census has Ann and the kids on her own so she has obviously recovered!! Only got to wait 7 years to find out what happened next!!!!!! Now to find how she got to Lancashire from Hull !! TVM Dave :-)
