Hi, I posted on here yesterday to try and get help, thanks to those who got in touch. I have only just started my tree and don't have that much information at all really. I have my grandparents names and dates of birth, but i am not sure what to do next, i also have the names of my grandmothers parents but not their dates of birth. My grandmothers maiden name was Elliston and she was born in Great Barton Suffolk as far as i am aware she married my grandfather who's surname was Sturgeon. If any of you can point me in the right direction to go now, i would be very grateful. Hope to hear from you soon Thanks Lisa

Lisa, You're next move is very dependent on the dates you have gotten back to. If you'd like to post the names and teh dates that you have so far it'll be easier to point you in the right direction and help you find what you need. If you're unsure about putting all that information up then the years of birth will give us a better idea of where to guide you to. Zoe

Hi Lisa, For births, marriages and deaths in England back to 01 Jul 1837 you need the civil records - start with http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ Great Barton would probably come under Bury St. Edmunds There are censuses in 1901 and 1881 with full indexes and also 1891, 1871, 1861 (good if you have an address) and 1851 which is mainly indexed. Before 01 Jul 1837 you need parish registers. If you want more help here I suggest you post full names and dates - as much as you know. Good luck
