I started this search of hubbys family ...he's called Batty. I was merrily on my way when I found a skeleton in the closet. GGGGxGrandma had 2 kids to the Lodger. Her hubby had died 5 years previous. This makes my hubby not a Batty any more ha ha. He's actually descended from the lodger.... hubby is a "Leighton" instead. I've got back to 1819 and the Batty line has ended. I have loads and loads of info, certs and census images. How can I turn this into a book for the grandkids when they come along?? I want one big enough to put in photos, certs and other bumpf Any ideas Sue xx

Hi I remember a story from Egyptian time that one of the Queens had children after the Pharaoh had died and it was passed off by a visit from the Ghost of the Pharoah !! Is the House Haunted!!!! Dave ;-) :-)

Now why didn't I think of that?? I was thinking along the lines of telling the registrar that it was a very long pregnancy......somehow I think a 5 year pregnancy stretches the imagination a little. Sue Batty/Leighton xx Ps I think I'll be posh now and have a double -barrelled name

I suppose a photo album, one of those with that sticky plastic, could be used as a record book. Having found the 'truth' are you going to tell children of mother and lodgers line. Batty must be obsolete!!, though I suppose there were half brothers and sisters?

Hi Jeanie, I have told some of the family...it went down like a lead balloon!! Though my huby thinks it's hilarious. I'm keeping my head down for a while ha ha What amazes me though is that I always thought people in those days never did anything like this. The mother had one child called Eliza to her hubby before hubby died. I could always try and find out what she did in her life. Bl**dy hell ...I thought I'd done with this family!! Sue xx
