death certificates help when no trace

Do you have any idea where they might be buried - family plot, or where their spouses were buried. You could then search the burial register/cemetery records. nell

Do you have any clues as to where he would have been for the death registration? It's possible that the record didn't make it through the transcription process from Local to Central records, so it might be worth looking in the relevant local office - if you know which one(s) is/are likely! Christine

I know the feeling. Been looking for my grandfathers death for two years. He was born in 1881 and I know for certain he was alive in 1931 and am pretty sure he was alive in 1950, but having searched the St. Catherine's Index about six times through all those years, and with a variety of spellings for surname, have decided he doesn't want to be found. Hi Marjorie, I know the feeling been looking for my ggrandfathers death certificate for 3 years I even know he died in a two year period but not joy wish you luck Margaret

my paternal grandmother and my maternal grandfather appear not to have died! they were both born in the 1860's and 90's respectively - all I hear from GRO is they must have died elsewhere. 2 researchers tried at FRC still no joy marjorie
