hi all, i was on line earlier just browsing around,then i logged off and went to my documents and i noticed something i hadn't seen before, it was in the shape of a scroll and had on it read me, so i opend it and internet explorer came up and the screen started flickering and in the bar at the bottom was a counter, i didn't like the look of it so deleted it, then everything seemed to freeze for a bit then came back and everything was slow so i re-booted (took ages tho) has anyone any idea what it was? everything seems ok now, i am well protected with norton and zone alarm. chris.

No, but it doesn't sound friendly. A timely reminder never to open anything you are unsure about. Hope everything is functioning well. nell

carol, it was in my documents folder, nell, everything is working ok

I assume that this is on XP. I use windows 98 but other half has XP and he always checks before opening anything that appears there. He checks by asking me to look for the file name on the internet, no wonder I never get anything done.
