I get off at Waterloo, hence the Angel, Islington tube reference!

I don't know which station Leicester comes into, but its about 15-20 minutes walk from Kings X and you could easily walk that just getting down to the tube station and walking up from Angel, so I wouldn't bother with the tube. A 63 bus goes down the Grays Inn Road, but again its just as quick to walk. If you have any London relies, the London Metropolitan Archives are 5 minutes walk away (ask someone at the FRC for directions as its not signposted) and they have a wealth of parish registers, electoral rolls, books, maps, school registers etc etc. nell

There's no ticket, no fee - just walk in and enjoy. Go to www.multimap*com and print off a map, as it's about a 15 minute walk from Angel. The main attractions are BMD and census records. The former are in books, the latter on fiche or film (get a leaflet explaining everything and don't just plonk yourself down in front of a reader - there's a system!). Take your own snacks unless you like vending machine crisps and Kit-Kats. Take a notebook and pencil and a £1 for the bag locker and happy searching.

I don't know about the ticket. You don't need one there though, if I remember rightly. You get off at Angel, Islington, and it's a walk from there. go to www.familyrecords.gov.uk and you should get all the info that you need from there. PS, would you please be able to do a relatively quick look up for me? It's for the naturalisation index that they have in the Wills index and ready room upstairs where the microfilm machines are. I am hoping to find the naturalisation reference for any DU SOLEIL/DUSOLEI/DUSOLIE/DUSOLEIL/DUSOLAI's. Only one family came to the UK, before 1752. The index is done by surname, and separate into 'eras' e.g. 1700-1800. I'd be interested in those rough dates. Please!!! It's really easy, I promise!!!

I've seen a few threads on here about the family records centre in London, as i'm down in London this weekend and have a free day on friday i thought it might be worth a visit. I've visited my local records office at Leicester several times and have found loads of info through the censuses but i don't get to visit much as i work full time. What records do they have at the FRC? Also where exactly is it and what tube station do i get off at? I have a county records office ticket, will i be able to use this or do i need a new ticket, if so what ID will i need? Thanks in advance Paula
