i often read about people using the 1901 decoder what is this?

I don't use it much but only because I've got a subscription to Ancestry. It's an excellent piece of software which you can download free, and gets you all the other members of a household without having to pay to view the image like you do on the census site. I am hopeless at explaining things, so if you do a thread search on this board and just put in 1901 decoder or census decoder etc, you should get lots of useful information. Mandy :)
