thankyou carol for your idea, mandy is obliging as we speak. hope i get a result the excitement of finding someone who maybe connected is just too much. my grandfather was born in 1887 on my mums side and 1878 on my dads. so sadly i never seem to find any connections after years of trying. im hopeful now brenda x

Hi Brenda, You could always set up a disposable email address, such as hot*mail, and give this instead of the one you normally use. I responded to an old thread when I joined Ancestry, got a response and discovered that we are related and had almost identical trees back from our common ancestors (my great-grandparents). I would say go for it - the worst that can happen is you get no reply! Carole

hi managed to trial ancestry today. looking thru the message boards i actually found someone who maybe related however the thread collapsed in 2002. now the question is can i email the man in question somehow and secondly would it be wise to do so as i would have to put my email addy and feeling a bit nervous about accessing ancestry this way. thoughts please brenda x
