	Both Mum and I are stuck with Mum's Grandfather, he simply disppeared on the 1901 Census although we know he was alive and living with Mum's Grand Mother. Several friends have searched on Ancestry for us. Mum has searched all the usual sites / sources for a registration of birth but can't find him. Is there any way that we can obtain a birth certificate withour a number? Or if not, any ideas where we can go from here? Feeling rather frustrated and stupid..... Gaynor Ann x

Member Since: June 2003 Posts: 607 Send Message	I beleive that the GRO will do a search for you but they charge £11.00 I dont know if this is limited to a number of years. It would be worth giving them a ring. Number is on 1837 site.
