Do you know, I can't remember and I've deleted the contact - but it was a man! What a cheek! Mandy :) |

Mandy Wonder if it's the same person. I don't suppose the initials were the same as a well known petrol company? Jacquie |

Yes! It happened to me the week before last. I'm unable to offer a general lookup thread, but I will often do the odd one if I've got some time and see someone with a polite request. The other day, there was an email in my message box that looked like a 'cut and paste' from a thread (like you said, no please or thank you!). But I did the lookup - unsuccessfully - and replied. The person then replied and said that the people weren't necessarily in the town he'd said, so could I look again at ALL counties! So if the person who is doing this is watching - you are very rude! You only have to ask nicely and people will be happy to help, but please don't take advantage of us. |

Just checked a message in GR for me, and it's from someone I've never contacted/been contacted saying what family he's interested in on the 1901 census, no please or thankyou, name nothing to do with my research. I don't have a thread offering specific lookups, just help when I've a minute with what I've got. Has this happened to anyone else? Puzzled! Jacquie |
