Helen, Most Parish registers are now held in the appropriate county records office; use Google to find it. Good hunting, Peter. PS more info sent to you direct.

Helen, Unfortunately birth certs as such didn't begin until 1837. Prior to that it would have to be a baptism entry from the parish register. You would have to know where this took place to locate it. Diane

If it's England, you can't get a birth certificate for an event before 01/07 1837 - that's when civil registration began. You will need to look at parish registers. Good luck!

There aren't any. Civil registration started in 1837. What you may find is a record of baptism in the parish registers. Sometimes, though not often, the vicar has included a date of birth.
