Hi Vicky, adding my message here and hope it gets pushed up. I have three names. Not sure exactly where thet were born, but WILLIAM G WHYMAN BORN C 1868 SHEFFIELD GERTRUDE WHYMAN BORN C1871 ROTHERHAM ALICE S WHYMAN BORN C 1873 ROTHERHAM These are the details as given in 1881 when they were living in Peterborough. Sometimes Alices birthplace is given as Sheffield. Would Rotherham be included in Sheffield? If you can find an address I would be very grateful. Many thanks Jean Fathers name, John r Whyman Mother Mary ann Whyman.

Barbara, Castleton is not too far away from Sheffield but it is counted as a rural area at Royal Mail(which i work for). it comes under the Sheffield postcode area now but not sure about years ago. At work we call Castleton and the surrounding areas(Hope, Edale, Grindleford, Stoney Middleton, Calver, Bamford, Bradwell,Hathersage,Eyam to name but a few) the "Derbyshire Rurals" so even though they come under the Sheffield postcode area, they are either in Derbyshire or very close to the boundary with Derbyshire Di

Hi Vicky, I would be really grateful if you could find out any baptism information on my Great Great Grandad Adam Allinson. He was born in Sheffield in 1836 (from census records) and later lived in the Ecclesall Bierlow area. His father was George and I think his mother was Eliza, but I would really like to be able to confirm this and possibly find out her maiden name. I would be grateful for anything that you can find. Thanks, Maggy
