Hi everyone,The last bit of info was from the 1901 census,name.DofB and age agree ,Wm Griffiths,aged 68,born in Monmouth,Admin DistGlam, Ystradyfodwg,Living on own means.It seems like my Gt. Grandad but cannot understand why he was not ,in Liverpool with Gt.Gran Sarah,Nee Cowen,place of birth.Sheffield.

Someone on the boards ,cant remember who it was,tried all ways but guessed it was wrong.Thirty years later I have the person {same one ?] in Ystradyfodwg ? in Monmouth...Lucy

Lucy, the nearest I can spot is "Mynydd-y-glog" just to the north-west of Merthyr Tydfil. It's obviously an English guess at a Welsh name! Marian

Lucy Where or from whom were you given this name? Other than that its in Monmouthshire do you have any clues about locality? nell

I have been given a place name that looks like Mafurtwiog.have googled,looked at map of Monmouth but do you know the correct spelling please.....Lucy
