Make sure you have your name and date of birth in the gedcom file the same as you have on the site, and that your name is the only one on this site before you start.

Well I don't use PAF 5, but FTW, however I'm sure the process is the same. I guess open your source file, go to export, choose the file extension of the file type you wish to export, in this case *.GED (the * part of the file name will be the same as the name of the original file) and complete the export process. Remember the name of the directory that you have saved this file in. When you come to import the file to GC choose the browse option and browse to the directory where you have saved the .GED File and select this, then choose import. I've never had it fail. Good luck!

Have you saved as a gedcom first? If you look in your help file on your PAF it should give you steps to share info.

I should have said a Family tree. Well I have tried importing the tree more times than I can remember. First I deleted the tree on this site than clicked on importing the tree. Did browse, chose the file and then clicked Import tree. No joy it just keeps saying problem in gedcom. I am sure I had to do something with the tree on my computer like export to ? but cannot remember. I have PAF 5 software which is compatable with GR. Can any of you brainly lot give poor little dopey me a step by step guide. Thank you Pat (on behalf of Gordon)
