I totaly agree, Tina. Even if they made the trying to find board first, it would stop all those messages going in the wrong box.

Hi John Thank you for the info. I do know that way of getting to the tips board (totally my favourite), but you have to scroll down further to get to that link and I'm lazy! Also, when you start out from your homepage, the resume is on the left and I suspect that many newcomers would come into the message boards from that link, not being certain which boards they might want to look at. Creatures of habit as we are, we tend to go on using the same route to places, even when there is a shortcut. I love this site. It is the first place I come to when I get in from work, but I do think it could be better explained sometimes. Tina

Hi Tina, You don't have to go via the success board to get here. On the home page, just past the middle on the right hand side, it says "General Topics", "Tips board" etc (listed under "Join the Community"). I always click there. :-)

Good idea Tina, Something along the lines of 'New to the site ? Then start here ' would be really useful. For those of us not computer literate its like a foreign language.( and i didnt learn English till i was six !) I stumbled around for a few weeks at the beginning - still do sometimes ! LOL Perhaps they should have a site suggestions box too? Elaine x.

I think that's a very good idea. They could also suggest that people start by looking at the how to get started section (maybe with a link to this section since it's a bit tricky to find). Also they could suggest searching on previous threads before posting questions of a more general nature. Perhaps a bit of netiquette might be good too - like not writing in capital letters and remembering to say thankyou.

When you click on "Message Boards" the first thing you see is the success board. I can understand the logic in that - encourage more people to join by seeing what other people have achieved. But there does seem to be so much confusion, especially I imagine amongst people new to the site, about which board to choose to place a message, would it not be a good idea if the first board we saw was in fact a brief instruction list as to where to place different types of messages? Does anyone think it is worth my while bothering to suggest this to GC? And by the way, have I put this on the right board :-) Tina
