I have what I believe to be an identity tag. It is made of 9ct gold with a chain also made of gold. The name of the type of chain is in present day a belcher chain and I have seen it also called a guard chain. A jeweller told me that it is Victorian. It has a name J. Shorrock and MNGL6130, this is crossed through and underneath is PX9148. I found it in my Dad's things when he died. His name was Joseph Shorrock, his Father was James Shorrock and his grandfather was Jonathan. As my Dad was only bron in 1916 it is not his. I am told that it is not from the 1st World War. Has anyone got any idea of what it could be?
