The birth index does not give mothers maiden name until 1912 so your only course is to obtain the birth certificate. I am assuming that you have already looked for that. |

I only wish I could help. I also have a William born approx 1907 in the right area (assuming you mean West Ham Essex/London) but mine died 1956 and his father was Stanley. Good luck with your search, Janet |

Sorry I can't help with your problem but I'll just point out that there are Westhams in Dorset, Sussex and Somerset. |

hi trying to trace my granddad his name was william archer and was born in 1907 but can not find any records of his birth he was married in 1932 to alice evans age twenty-five in westham he died in 1957. all i can find out is his father was william archer. but not were they come from can anyone help thanks john |
