Carol Because of what you said, I went back and looked at my PAF5 and found that I can link them here almost the same way as you explained, so I can carry on using my existing tree. Thank you for your help in this. Tracie

If you want to give it a try you can get it from here http://www(.)cf-software(.)com/cftw(.)html Remove brackets. Download the older 2.51 version and if you like it mail me for further information.

I am assuming that means you have a person who is listed as daughter of one family, and she then marries the son of another family. They are both in the database, so with the fix relationship, the female can be fixed to the male as wife. Is that what you are after.

Hi Tracie, I use Cumberland Family Tree and that includes a function called `fix relationship` From the help file Connecting a Person to the Key Individual To connect a wife, husband, child or adopted child (that already exists in the database) to the key individual you simply make the appropriate selection from the Fix Relationship menu. You may then enter the IRN of the desired individual or press the NameSearch button to find the person by name. Pressing Ok will make the connection which will immediately be reflected on screen.

I have read some of the replies about the best genealogy software, but I need a program that will link multiple families that are not related by adoption. On the Traveller side, if I go back far enough there are multiple links of families marrying into 8 or 9+ families, e.g. brothers marring sisters, and 3/4th removed cousins marring I would like a program that would do this, I am currently using this site and PAF5 from the LDS, but they don't seem to be able to handle multiple families that are linked by marriage Anyone out there has or knows of a program that can handle this????? Tall request I know.....
