I believe that my great grandfather was killed at the begining of ww2. the only thing is, i dont know what regiment he was in. in fact all that i've got to go on is his name and he lived in Liverpool. can any one tell me if they think i've got any chance of finding any thing about him. cheers, Deb

His death should still be registered, though I think it might be in the overseas section at the GRO. With luck his regiment, or some clue as to his rank, etc. should be on the death cert. Nell

He'll be on the CWGC site if he was killed in action. Your only problem will be if his name isn't at all unusual. I was lucky to be researching "Christmas" in that context! Christine
