Member Since: June 2004 Posts: 3,470 Send Message	There are probably good links on the bbc site. "My Ancestor was a Merchant Seaman" by Chris & Michael Watts is THE book on the subject. Records are mainly at the National Archives at Kew and for the best periods are brilliant, but you do really need to read up on it first. Brenda

Many thanks in anticipation
