A long life seems to run in the Hearn family as both my mother in law and her sister lived till their nineties. They were great great grand daughters of Margaret. They got very frail at the end of their lives and seemed to fade away. Shirley

Shirley, Sometimes, a doctor may strongly suspect that, on the basis of the history and examination findings, a certain disease was the cause of death, but the patient was too frail to be subjected to investigations to confirm the suspected diagnosis... This is what it says in my book when talking of death from senectus... Old Age Shaz x

That was quick. I suppose 87 was a good age for 1861. She must have just got worn out. Shirley

One of my husbands ancestors has the cause of death as SENECTUS. She was 87 years old. Is it a form of dementia? Shirley
