I've received the wrong birth cert via the post today. I asked for a birth cert registered in Wakefield and they have sent me one for the same name living in Sheffield!! Am I allowed to send it back and would they give me a refund, even though they have had to search for this cert?? I ordered it through St Kitts. If not.... does anyone want a birth cert for Elizabeth Batty 1846 Sheffield?? Free to a good home Sue xx

Hello I reckon it's worth asking whether you can send it back for a refund. It probably depends a bit on how much info you were able to give when you sent in your application. If you decide to pass it on (or sell it) there are a few sites specially geared for that. For instance: http://www.ukbdm.*co.uk/ (remove asterisk) It has various slots for putting in the info and the opportunity to tick a box if you're willing to sell it. They don't undertake to get involved in the trading: you give an e-mail address for contacts about the cert (so think carefully about which address you give) and, if you've ticked the sell-box, the entry has a different appearance when people look at it (can't remember how it's different!).
