I know for the York area some records are held about Policemen at the York City Archives as there was a talk about it at the last YFHS meet. Keep meaning to go look up mine. Dawn |

Most forces have a museum for archives. Suggest you try Nottingham HQ admin and ask them to put you in touch with someone. a google might give you the address or E mail contact.Good hunting |

Hi Jane, I don't think it's a site with loads of information, but there is www(.)lightage(.)demon(.)co(.)uk. It has got the Black Sheep Index and Murder Index (!!) but I'm sure there's also a section on police. Mandy :) |

I don't know about Notts, but would imagine they would be in the archive of the local police force. I know the Met police records are at Kew. Have you tried googling? |

Hi does anyone know how you or if you can find information on Police constables in the early 1900's? Are there any records anywhere? According to the 1901 census Walter Grey worked in Nottinghamshire and i was hoping to find out about him from these records if they exist. Thank you for your help Jane |
