dundalk birth 1896 (british soldier son)

Hi Marcies If he was a british soldier serving "overseas" you may be able to get his son's birth cert from the GRO Overseas division. It might help if you know his regiment I have got 2 from there very easily, 1 born Aden and 1 born Gibralter. They are very helpful Sylvia

thanks carol,i wonder if it,s differant for a britih soldier,s son, i mean would he be registered in england, will have to pursue this further marcie x

I have look on 1837 overseas births for 1896 but no David Edwards, sorry.

hi has any one got any idea how i go about finding a birth certificate for a child of a british soldier serving in dundalk ireland in 1896, his name was david edwards, his mother was agnes edwards and his father was david astil edwards, any help would be appreciated, as i have an old photo from the ww1 and it,s defenatley an edwards(spitting image of my mum) but too young for my granddad any help/advise would be great marcie x
