You've probably already got all the information you can off this site, but if you haven't tried it I'd really recommend it as it can give a lot of information http://www.cwgc.*org/cwgcint*ernet/search.*aspx (remove *)

1837online have some naval deaths. What is the name and have you an idea of the year he died, and the name of the ship if possible.

Death cert you should be able to get in the normal way and CWG site should be able to help with date of death and medals entitlement are just about in TNA. If you know what hospital ship he was on and you can prove next of kin +£25 fee will bring you more info from MOD in Gosport Hants. I also have the name of the only book written about hospital ships. If you are interested I will send you the name. It was written in 1970's and is now a very rare book to get hold of but I ordered a copy through my local library and made some relevant photocopies as the name of my father's hospital ship +photographs were in the book. It is a good read telling you all about the history of these ships, but obviously does not give any personnel details. It does give details of those hospital ships that were sunk. Hospital Ships are notoriously difficult to obtain info about and this book has been my best source. I did also obtain my father's records through the MOD. Janet
