how do i obtain death certificate 1918 - battle of

Sally, What info are hoping for? I've got a death certificate for WW2 & all it gives is Reg. No. age date & place of death caus of deth - killed in action Jean

Hi I've had a look on 1837 overseas deaths and there is an Alfred A Vickery death in 1918. it says his number (army) is 252159 reference vol 1.83 page 272 If you send me an e mail I will send the page to you. Diane

1837online has the indices of overseas deaths now. You need to look in the GRO War Deaths index. This will give a volume and page and you can order online same as for England and Wales deaths. Good hunting Judith

I have managed to locate my Gt Gt Uncle Alfred Arthur Vickery's details on the Commonwealth Graves site but I', not sure how to go about obtaining his death certificate. He died at the Battle of Somme 24/3/1918. I have his regimental details etc. Do I write to the Imperial War Museum or Army Records office at Hayes? I would be grateful for any advice you can give me. Thank you
