Hi Christine, that's exactly the info I've just emailed to Ann - talk about great minds!!! Thanks also for info on location, I hadn't got that far yet. The Bereavement Services unit are indeed extremely helpful. I was not only given the date and place of death, but also the last known home address, and even the plot number at the cemetery. They even apologised for the delay in replying to me, and I hadn't expected a quick response. Mandy :)

I've done a bit of juggling with Google and Multimap. South Stoneham Cemetery appears to be near Swaythling, at the southern end of the airport runway. Using http://www.southampton.gov.uk plus their services index, I found: Cemeteries and Crematorium Southampton Cemeteries and Crematorium are administered from Bereavement services located at 6 Bugle Street. Directorate: Development and Sustainability Area: City Address: Bereavement Services Unit 6 Bugle Street Southampton SO14 2AJ Email: ray.hancock[at-symbol]southampton.gov.uk Telephone: 023 8022 8609 or 023 8083 2362 Fax: 023 8033 0364

I live just outside of southampton mandy but as I have no transport it would be too dificult to get there, if you have nora's address she might do it because she lives near there. jenny x

There are some cemetery threads and at least one Hampshire thread. It might be worth having a look on some of those. - I'm sure I've seen some kind offers along the lines of your request. Christine

If no one can do it, Mandy, I bet the people at the cemetery / council might. Joy

I have a huge favour to ask, but only if someone is in the near area, please don't go travelling for miles! I would very much like a photograph of a particular grave at South Stoneham Cemetery. I have the plot number. Many thanks for any help. Mandy :)
