Please could somebody tell me . If somebody was thought to have committed suicide in 1961 would it have been reported in the local paper for that town and if so do you think it is possible to get a copy. Thank you

If you can, try the local library to the event. They might have the originals or have them on microfilm.

Thank you all so much for your answers So i would have to go to the local libary then. As i live quite a long way from there could i ask the libary to look it up do you think or is there a national libary service for such searches which can be searched from any uk libary.I dont know what i am talking about now sorry getting you all confused but sometimes i am dumb and talk out loud now i am typing out loud thanks for your answers i will try to get in touch with the libary Thank you

The nearest large library to the event will probably have back issues of the local newspaper and may do a search and send a photocopy if you are prepared to pay. Try e-mailing your request - most libraries have this now and you can google to find the address. County record offices also have newspaper archives. nell
