I mentioned in my Visitations note to check out the following www.uk-genealogy.org.uk Choose from Contents list England or whatever will reveal Counties and by selecting the one you are interested in for example Cornwall reveals a further list of towns and parishes one there one can select a place to see a parish record. A point to note the compiler has not scanned all marriage records. Have fun John

The Ancestry BMDs are the same as FreeBMD - one day they may be fully transcribed. In truth, you must order the Cert based on one partner or wait for a full transcription on FreeBMD. If you think you know who the partner should be then you can check on 1837online but this will cost money.

Linda, What you can do is go on to FreeBMD and search marriages using just the district, quarter and year you found for the one spouse. This will bring up all marriages that have been transcribed so far. Sometimes the volume number can't be read and has been transcribed with a dash or a number with brackets around it. You might be able to figure out the missing spouse this way. Crista

Why is it when I click 'see others on page there are often not enough men / women to make up couples? Found marriage of someone tonight and nearly sure they are right one, but no partner there by right name- in fact 2 male and 1 female listing. Not the first ime this has happened. Is there anything I can do to find out the name of the missing person? Linda
