Ancestry tend to be slow announcing the addition of new counties. Also the county does not apper in the drop down selction list for a couple of days after it has been uploaded. Sussex was added last weekend. Select 1871 UK Census then select "UK Census Collection" at the top of the page. Enter a common name like "SMITH" and press ENTER. Make a note of the numbers for each census year/country. If it has increased since last time you looked then you can investigate to find which counties have been added but you have to do it from the "UK Census Collection" page. Again it is best to keep a note on a spreadsheet so you can see changes but you can get a good idea of whether a county has been uploaded by the relative numbers for 1871, 1891 & 1901. You often find that there are a few hundred matrches in counties that have not been completed because of the way that films overlap over county borders. Official announcements of releases are posted in Boards > Topics > Ancestry.com > United Kingdom and Ireland by Laryn Brown. Next 1871 releases will be Somerset, Staffordshire, Warwickshire.. Martin

Thanks, Crista, no I wasn't! I was just so chuffed she was there was happy to wait a while to see properly where. Great-great-aunt Emily is one of my favourites, and couldn't work out where she would be. I know where and when she was born, and where in 1861, 1881, 1891, 1901, where, when and who she married, her children, and where she was buried - no gravestone, but have been to the cemetery to the place where she and husband John are buried, and paid my respects.
