Is there anyway I can find out the cause of death on the death certificate, I have tried the hospital but because I do not know the date of birth of the decseased they cannot help. Any ideas?

If the certificate you have is not legible you should contact the GRO and they should write it out for you. They're supposed to have a 'quality checking' process and if a cert is too bad they will transcribe it. Anne

Thank you for your reply. Its the writing I cannot understand not the print, do you think GRO would still be able to help?

Perhaps if you try to put it on here someone will be able to help? Do you mean its a medical term you don't understand? There's a website of old medical terms. Not sure of the address though. Anne

No I just can't read the writing, is says something for 9 mths and then something else for 2 mths. I know they died of cancer but it is not very clear.
