HI Louise. I have only been doing my family tree since July and its amazing what you can learn just reading the boards. They are the best bunch on here and anything you want to know just ask, someone will know the answer. I wouldnt be as advanced in my tree without the help of the people on here. Its great fun so go to it.. Mary in Sydney

Hi Louisa Yoiu can find the 1891 on www.ancestry.com also part of the 1871 &1901 on there but you have to join the site. There is a trick to find out who's in the household on the 1871 & 1901 for nothing. Start a search for the person putting name and area in and if these census come up see if there is someone who might just be your relative click on them. On the page that comes up you will see people in household click on it and you will see all the people there on the census day.

Louise Daunting isn't it? I remember when I started last November and didn't know where to go or what to do. Thankfully there are tons of very friendly and helpful people on here. Re your original question - you can also access 1871, 1891 and 1901 census at ancestry(.)co(.)uk [remove brackets] for a fee. Its quite expensive, but, I think, worth the money. Births marriages and deaths can be found at freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com. [remove brackets again] Good hunting. Gerry PS If I can be of any help email me. (click on my name)

Another website to try is http://freecen.rootsweb.com/ . There are a number of people transcribing census returns across the country as part of this project. Coverage is a bit sketchy, but you might be lucky! Not all areas are doing 1891 so check what the coverage is before you start looking.

It depends where you want the census for :) The 1881 England and Wales, 1880 USA and 1880 Candian Census returns are free to search and view the results etc. at www.familysearch.org . The 1901 England and Wales census can be searched for free but you have to pay to view the household and the orginial images. The website for this is http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ For Scotland the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census returns can be found at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . It costs to both search and view the results.
