Hi, Have just run my skybot program and as usual it has come up with a long list, now what do I destroy? every entry has a red ! but only three of the boxes are pre-checked. Most of the other entries have the description 'back- web' is it safe to destroy all or should I just get rid of the pre-checked ones. Some have registary at the end others file or directory, Help please. Lynn

Hi Linda. I presume it is Spybot search and destroy which is flagging up all the spyware and adware on your computer. If they are in red then they should be deleted as they slow your computer down a lot! Recently sorted at least 3 friends computers of the same thing!. also try free adware personal from lavasoft.de as it finds stuff spybot does not! I use both all the time and it keeps my computer free of nasties!

Thanks John, I'll delete and see what happens! it has a restore facility if I muck up, doesn't it. Also what does the Immunize button do? as haven't tried that. I do have Ad-Aware and run that too. Lynn.

thought I'd resurrect this advice from our Judy in the States.. She actually warns against Spybot: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added by Judy in the States on 09/03/2004 01:40:11 Pauline: Although Spybot does remove spyware, it's notorious for adding it's own spyware to your computer. Try running Adaware and Spybot at the same time.....Adaware will find the spyware that Spybot has added so you can see for yourself what it's added. Judy

I had Spybot once, but 3 different virus scanners identified it as a virus, so I deleted it.
