Hi, im fairly new to this, so i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on where to start. i would like to find out the names of my great grandad and grandmothers mother, father, brothers and sisters. I have birth certificates for them, but it only has my great grandparents names on them. Could anyone suggest anything on the internet that would help me, because i have constantly searched on many of the sites just to find nothing! if anyone could help i'd be sooo grateful. Amie

Hi Amie I'm afraid we'll need more information before we can help you. Can you give us some dates and places where your relatives were born? Heather

Thanx for your reply, everything seems to be so daunting when you first start out. My great grandfather William Sydes born around 1890, lived in islington, London married to Annie Hughes born around 1890 and from the same area. I believe that my great grandmother Annie's, mother could have been from Lincolnshire. kind regards Amie

Hi Amie! You won't be a newbie for long, and you will find everyone on here very friendly and helpful. If you look in the green column on the left of the page, and scroll down you will see a section called 'New to GR', this will give you lots of advice on how to get started. Good luck and happy hunting! Mandy :)
